HUMANSCALE
Humanscale is the premier designer and manufacturer of sustainable, high-performance ergonomic products for the workplace. Their award-winning solutions improve the health, efficiency and quality of work life. In a time where people are working a lot from home, products like these are especially important. I did this project in an Industrial Design course at Wayne State University. it is still one of my favorites to date because I was able to 3D print a model of the lamp and actually hold it in my hands.
DESIGN OBJECTIVE:
Design a new task lamp for Humanscale that is modern and tasteful, easy to package, ship, and install, eco-friendly, inviting and appealing to everybody, attractive in a corporate or home office environment, and most importantly for the well-being of humanity.
DESIGN INSPIRATION:
I think we all can agree that sunlight and Vitamin D is the best medicine when it comes to boosting our moods and brightening our day - literally! Because there was such an emphasis on designing a product that was for the consumer's well-being, I was inspired by the power of the sun and the many positive effects it can have on us.
I decided to call my lamp The Dawn and it is available in 3 color ways.
